PERRYVILLE: Mustangs move to 4-3A

Conference: 4-3A
Coach: Ed Baker
’15 Record: 4-6

Perryville started 2015 with a 1-5 record, but the Mustangs did not quit, winning three of their last four games to finish just outside of the playoffs.

All-conference quarterback Dalton Everett — a 501 Football Team honoree in 2015 — graduated in May, leaving the position up for grabs. Senior Rhett Fuller and juniors Nate Stout and Chris Hoyt are potential starters at quarterback. Stout may also start at fullback. Senior Lane Clement is back at slotback in Perryville’s Triple Option offense. Junior Hunter Lawrence is also back in the backfield at the other slotback position. Juniors Cody Dufresne and Colton Vess are the main Mustang receiving options. Seniors Jesse Nelson and Michael Woodward and juniors Billy Swafford and Avery Cloninger project as starters on the offensive line.

Woodward, Nelson, Swafford and Fuller make up the defensive line. Stout, Cloninger and Clement start at linebacker. Hoyt, Vess, Dufresne and senior James Leadingham lead the secondary.
