19 May 2014 Owners of Pitza42 receive community service award
Ashton and Austin Samuelson, owners of Pitza42, recently received the “Conway Community Service Award.”
The two were recognized in April at Fellowship Bible Church in Conway by Sen. Jason Rapert. From April 3 through April 5, almost 3,000 volunteers came together and packed 544,320 meals that were then shipped to other countries, providing food for people in need. This was the third time Pitza42 has packed meals to ship overseas.
“Our goal with the community service award is to recognize those in our community that are making a difference in the lives of others that may otherwise go unnoticed by the public. These are our community heroes and servants,” said Rapert. “The Samuelsons exemplify these great qualities, and we want to recognize them for their efforts and the difference they are making in this community and around the world.”
The Samuelsons explained how they have been “amazed at the generosity and support of the Conway area community. It has been such an encouragement to see the community come alongside Pitza42 in our fight against world hunger.”
The Conway Community Service Award Committee’s mission is to recognize the good that the people of Conway do. Committee members include Craig Cloud, chief compliance officer at Arkansas Enterprises for the Developmentally Disabled Inc.; Charlotte Green, gifted and advanced placement supervisor at Conway Public Schools; Courtney Leach, executive director of Community Connections; Manny Sepulveda, Hispanic initiative outreach coordinator at the University of Central Arkansas; and Sen. Jason Rapert.
