Only in Arkansas

by Brenda McClain

When my mother, Josie Dee Reynolds McClain, returned to her hometown in the late 1990s, we drove around Conway asking random citizens questions about the city. After all, she had been gone more than 40 years!

Over and over and over when we questioned which bank had the best service, we were told First Security Bank. Impressive, for a totally unscientific poll that tells truth.

Today, First Security Bank has continued this tradition. Its blog, OnlyInArk.com, supports families with informative ways to see this state and understand what Arkansas offers.

Want to learn about summer activities? You will find all this and more.

OnlyInArk.com is where Arkansas Women Bloggers write about their Arkansas adventures. There are so many opportunities in Arkansas that cost nothing. Make Arkansas your “sponge” this summer. Absorb everything you can and share with your children and summer visitors with an eye for beauty.

The OnlyInArk.com website says it best:

“There’s a lot to celebrate in Arkansas. It’s unique. Southern. Delightfully eccentric. Which is why we love every nook, cranny, cave and corner. In fact, some of our favorite things can’t be found anywhere else. They’re only in Arkansas. So we love them even more. The attractions we visit, the food we crave, the festivals we attend, the mountains we hike, the rivers we float, the stories we tell and the company we keep — it all adds up to one incredible state. And that familiar, meandering silhouette? Looks like home to us.”

Disclaimer: Recently OnlyInArk.com featured Art on the Green, the art gallery where I’m fortunate to “hang my hat” daily. Our motto is “Learn. Teach. Read. See. Understand.” Yes, we are one of the great places in Arkansas where one can bring family and it won’t cost you one penny.
