12 Aug 2013 Nonprofits receive $12,000 through Operation Round-Up
Eight nonprofit organizations recently received funds through First Electric Cooperative’s Operation Round-Up program. Community members on the Operation Round-Up Board of Trustees approved $12,000 in donations.
Recipients by county include:
• In Arkansas County, Grand Prairie Charitable Christian Medical Clinic received $2,000, and Resource Center for the Aging received $1,000.
• In Cleburne County, the Cleburne County Historical Society received $2,000.
• In Grant County, Literacy Council of Grant County received $1,000.
• In Lonoke County, the CS&Z Volunteer Fire Department and Kohen’s Park Foundation each received $1,500.
• In Saline County, CADC Saline County Single Parent Scholarship Fund received $2,000, and Imagination Library of Saline County received $1,000.
The program is possible thanks to the generosity of First Electric members who enrolled in Operation Round-Up and agree to have their electric bill rounded up to the next even dollar amount each month. That money – more than $638,000 since 1998 – funds nonprofit donations and student scholarships. To sign up or to apply for funds, visit firstelectric.coop or call 800.489.7405.
