Nominations sought for Conway Arts Awards

Conway Alliance for the Arts (CAFTA) is accepting nominations for the fourth annual Conway Arts Awards.

The awards, recognizing contributions to the arts in Conway, will be given for Outstanding Arts Educator; Outstanding Student Achievement; Outstanding Individual Arts Achievement; Rollin R. Potter Outstanding Arts Patron; and a special Mayor’s Award for Community Advocate for the Arts.

Members of the public are encouraged to submit nominations for any of these awards at artsinconway.org/awards. Forms may also be picked up at the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce, Conway library or Reynolds Performance Hall Box Office. The deadline for submitting nominations is Friday, Feb. 24.

“Nominees need not live in Conway, but their contributions must be or have been impactful to the Conway arts community,” said CAFTA Board Chair Gayle Seymour. “The Conway Alliance for the Arts is very pleased to take the lead in recognizing some very talented individuals who have helped enrich all of our lives.”

The awards ceremony will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 13, in the Trieschmann Fine Arts Building at Hendrix College. Also during the ceremony, the CAFTA Board will recognize an individual with an award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts.

The ceremony, free and open to the public, will include performances by local artists and will be followed by a reception.

The Conway Alliance for the Arts (CAFTA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, supports and promotes artistic endeavors in Conway and Central Arkansas. Through its flagship events, ArtsFest and the Conway Arts Awards, CAFTA connects the community through the arts.
