Mustangs returning for "Mustangs on the Mountain"

On Sunday, May 25, Mustangs will again return to The Museum of Automobiles on Petit Jean Mountain for “Mustangs on the Mountain.”

This annual “Show & Shine” event will begin at 11 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. There is no spectator fee to see these Mustangs. Approximately 60 Mustangs from Arkansas and surrounding states will participate.

The First Mustang show on Petit Jean Mountain was held Oct. 17, 1993. It was hosted by all six of Arkansas’ Mustang Car Clubs, and the highlight of the show was the first showing in Arkansas of the 30th Anniversary 1994 Ford Mustang. The Central Arkansas Mustangers returned with “Mustangs on the Mountain” on May 24, 1998. The following year, The Museum of Automobiles, along with the help of Rick Wood of Ola, serving as tour chairman, established it as an annual show on Memorial Day weekend.

The Museum of Automobiles is open year round from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week, closing only on Christmas Day. Admission is $10 for adults 18 to 64, $9 for seniors 65 and older, and $5 for students ages 6 through 17. There is no charge for children under 6 with their parents.  Group rates for 15 or more are available on request.

For more information, contact The Museum of Automobiles at 501.727.5427 or [email protected], or visit museumofautos.com.

The event is open to all Ford Mustangs, although most of the entries are 1960s and 1970s models. Occasionally there will be one or more Ford cars and pickups. This is the 50th anniversary of the Mustang so come help celebrate the birthday of one of America’s true classics.
