Mustangs and Bisons to play at Dickey-Stephens

The Central Baptist College Mustangs will host a Division II opponent at Dickey-Stephens Park.  The CBC Mustangs and the Harding Bisons will take the field at 6 p.m. Monday, April 24, at the home of the Class AA Arkansas Travelers. The event is sponsored by First Security Bank.

The CBC Mustangs Coach Dr. Aaron Brister and the Bisons Coach Dr. Patrick McGaha have agreed to the neutral site and the event is intended to be held annually. “It’s very exciting to play Harding on a big stage,” said Brister. “We can’t wait to showcase our talent in that venue.”

Tickets for adults are $10 and tickets for children 12 and under are $7 (3 and under is free).  Student tickets will be $5 for CBC and Harding students with a valid student ID. All seats are general admission. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling 501.205.8910 or at cbc.edu/dickey-stephens. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the Dickey-Stephens Park box office on the night of the game.

“We are very grateful to the Arkansas Travelers Baseball Club for the opportunity to play at their facility,” Brister said. “Any time you can tell a recruit that you are going to play in a AA park, that’s exciting and great for recruiting. We hope the community will come out and support both programs as well.”

In 2016, the CBC baseball team broke win records and won the first American Midwest Conference championship. The Mustangs also played the St Louis Community College Archers in an exhibition game at Busch Stadium, the most notable venue ever for the college.
