27 Aug 2012 Morrilton chamber to host grand opening Thursday
The Morrilton Area Chamber of Commerce will host its grand opening celebration from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at its new office facility at 115 E. Broadway in downtown.
After leasing office space for several years on North Division Street, the chamber purchased its new facility from the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton in May.
The facility, formerly Greer’s, is one of Morrilton’s historic buildings. Since the move in May, Chamber President Brandon Baker and his staff have made a few minor changes to the building, making it fully functional for the chamber’s regular business activities as well as transforming some of the space into community meeting rooms.
The chamber invites its members and their employees along with citizens of the Morrilton area to attend its grand opening celebration and tour the new facility.
“We hope to get a good turnout for our grand opening event,” Baker said. “We want everyone to see the changes that we have recently undergone to better fulfill our duties in serving the people of this community.”
Petit Jean Meats and Movie House Winery will provide a variety of refreshments for the evening, all of which are made in Morrilton.
The Morrilton Area Chamber of Commerce is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Anyone who cannot attend the grand opening is encouraged to stop by and tour the facility during the chamber’s regular business hours.
