Mayor’s Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony Attendees asked to bring non-perishable food

North Little Rock — Mayor Terry Hartwick and several North Little Rock children will light the Christmas tree in Argenta Plaza at 6 p.m. tonight. Three special guests will accompany Hartwick, along with members of Girl Scout Troops 6115 and 6677.

The Girl Scout Troops and members of the North Little Rock Kiwanis Club will be collecting non-perishable food to share with those in need in the community.

“We set a goal of $5,000 to collect at the Mayor’s Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony in hopes to serve at least 200 families in the North Little Rock School District, our unsheltered community and through the ‘Share Your Lunch’ program,” said Randy Jumper, pastor of North Little Rock First Assembly and president of the Kiwanis Club.

The community is invited to attend the ceremony and celebrate the beginning of the holiday season. For more information, contact Shara Brazear, Director of Communications for the City of North Little Rock, at 501.351.2714 or [email protected].
