Loving life in the valley!

Their passion for the outdoors is showcased in the living room with a full wall of removable picture window sliding glass doors, allowing the Mays to open almost 15 feet of their great room to the outside. The breathtaking doors open onto a screened porch with a wood-burning fire where the couple spends cool nights with their family making s’mores and listening to the crackle of the fire.

In addition to the amazing sliding door, the Mays home has several distinct details customized to make the house a home. Throughout the home is a unique pecan wood floor suggested by Drew. “I was a little nervous about how the finished product would come out because of the color variation,” Suzanne said.

The couple worked with Interiors Only in Conway on the floors and were very pleased with the assistance and quality craftsmanship the business provided. The floors are a great success in the new home and Suzanne loves all the interest created by the stunning wood grain.

Having an affinity for dark taupe, the Mays have painted their home darker with each new house. They finally ended in a very adventurous deep brown taupe which contrasts exceptionally against Suzanne’s glazed light cream cabinetry throughout the kitchen and great room. Although faced with outside concerns of the dark taupe making their home too dark, the Mays stuck to their guns and ended up with a rich interior full of light.

Designing the house with each girl having her own bedroom and bathroom suite, the May daughters boast of vibrant rooms fitted to each of their personalities. Sixteen-year-old Morgan chose a girly purple and zebra themed room while 12-year-old Landry picked green and blue to accompany her collection of guitars.

Suzanne shared, “We let each of the girls pick out her own chandelier for their bathrooms.” The fun difference in their personalities is seen in their lighting choices.  While Morgan chose a demur crystal chandelier, Landry opted for a funkier lighted sphere.

Drew and Suzanne’s own master suite is quite fantastic with its tall windows and connection to the screened porch. Their master bath is a dream come true for Suzanne. “Drew and I have always shared a closet,” explained Suzanne, “but with our new his and hers closets, I love having my own space.” Drew also enjoys his private vanity in the large bath. There is also a striking tile shower.

The Mays have enjoyed their cheerful family-oriented home since last April. Between listening to Landry play worship music on the screened porch and enjoying family and friends in the great room, Drew and Suzanne have been blessed to enjoy shaping a handsome house into a delightful home.
