Little Rock Winds presents ‘America★250’ on April 23

Little Rock Wind Symphony, conducted by Israel Getzov, will present “America★250” at 7:30 p.m., April 23, at Second Presbyterian Church, 600 Pleasant Valley Dr., Little Rock. 

The program, marking the nation’s 250th anniversary with well-known American melodies, will feature a musical setting of the Declaration of Independence with narration. Guest narrators will be Teresa McCraney, Baker Wells and Brent Walker, the Little Rock Winds concert announcer. 

Admission is $15 and is free for students. Tickets are available online at lrwinds.org/tickets  

The concert is sponsored by Holly Eaton-Bradfield and Larry Bradfield; guest artists are sponsored by Sharon and Randy Burrall.

The program will be conducted by Israel Getzov, who begins his eleventh season as Music Director of the Little Rock Winds. He also serves as Music Director of the Conway Symphony Orchestra, and Artistic Advisor to the Orquesta Filarmónica de Santa Cruz in Bolivia. Previous positions include Principal Conductor of the Tianjin Philharmonic – the resident orchestra of the Tianjin Grand Theater in China, and Associate Conductor of the Arkansas Symphony.
