Library offers Bullyproof program

Every month in the United States, 3 million children miss school due to fear of bullies. The Gracie Bullyproof program has been shown to be one of the few effective counter-measures to bullying for children between the ages of 5 and 13.

The program uses verbal assertiveness and leverage based control holds to deter bullies and several non-violent self-defense techniques to stay safe if physically assaulted.

An introduction to the Bullyproof program will be offered as part of the summer reading program at the Conway County Library at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 12.
