Joy to the World: Family spreads love of God to others

Hope and Alex Hood have a message to deliver. Many messages actually – artful and soulful messages of home, holiday, family and faith.

Their medium is simple, yet elegantly beautiful, handpainted signs, which they design, construct and paint right in their home workshop.

“We started our company, Signs of Hope, a few years ago as a way to spread the word and love of God to others,” said Hope.

“We believe His word is powerful and life-giving. We love knowing our message is going in homes all over the country.”

On any given day, their workshop is alive with family members cutting out signs, framing, painting, packaging and shipping.

Sons Jordan and Jereme, daughter Hailey and daughters-in-law Briana and Sarah all help out to create these inspirational works of art and get the orders out the door.

Top it off with too many cats and dogs to count and a turtle named Rambo, and their busy workdays are intertwined with family fun and fellowship. Several nights a week those workdays wrap up with the entire family staying around for dinner.

“Our home has always been a gathering place,” said Hope.

Her talent for art and design is evident in her home, which takes on a new look for each season and holiday. At Christmas, Hope builds a palette of reds and greens just like the signs she creates for the season.

Love, fun and faith are created here and shared with the world, one sign at a time.
