Johnson named ‘Rotarian of the Year’

MORRILTON — The Rotary Club of Morrilton congratulates Rotarian Jennifer Johnson for receiving the Rotary District 6170 Governor’s Service Award, otherwise known as Rotarian of the Year. The award is given annually to one Rotarian within the district and is considered the highest honor of all district awards.

Johnson was recognized at the joint conference of Rotary districts 6150 and 6170 in Little Rock on April 27. She was presented a commemorative plaque by District Governor Emil Woerner at the governor’s award banquet which concludes the conference. “I find that it’s only fitting that we recognize her, not only for this year but for the decade plus of work that she has tirelessly sacrificed and given to our district,” Woerner said of Johnson’s 12 years of service as the district’s treasurer.

During her time serving as district treasurer, Johnson worked under the leadership of 12 district governors. Woerner added that while acting as treasurer, Johnson has helped to better position the district’s finances so it can financially fulfill its mission. She has proven time and again her dedication to ‘service above self,’ which is the organization’s motto, he said.
