Jennings and Keller to perform at the library June 9

The Faulkner County Library will welcome the acoustic duo Jennings and Keller at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 9.

Jennings and Keller is Laurie Jennings Oudin and Dana Keller out of Miami. They bring a wealth of experience to their collaboration, from the Broadway musicals of New York to the honkytonks of West Texas. They call their music “Fusion Folk Americana” — a blend of many different elements that come from their vast and wide-ranging musical backgrounds.

Their story begins in 2006. After playing together in several different bands, Laurie and Dana decided to join forces and take their show on the road. With the release of their 2007 debut CD, “Susan’s House,” Jennings and Keller quickly gained recognition as well as songwriting awards throughout the country. In 2007 alone, they were finalists or winners in five different songwriting competitions across the country.

In May 2009, Jennings and Keller released “As The Universe Unfolds,” which garnered great reviews as well as airplay on independent radio stations from Florida to California.

They have released their third CD, “Mirror With a Memory.”

A former Shakespearean actress, Laurie has been a singer and songwriter for many years. Her theater training combined with many years of professional singing gives Laurie an obvious command of the stage as well as the songs that she sings. Dana Keller is a veteran pedal steel, dobro and guitar player who has spent years performing on stage or in the studio with such luminaries as Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs, Stevie Wonder, Larry Graham, Marvin Gaye, Dave Mason, Johnny Rodriguez and The Allen Brothers.
