Interfaith prayer service scheduled in Morrilton

An Interfaith Prayer service is scheduled 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 27, at the Morrilton Area Chamber of Commerce, 115 East Broadway in Downtown Morrilton.

Representative prayers of Christianity, Baha’i, Islam, Judaism and Hindu faiths will be offered. The public is invited. Refreshments and visiting will be at 5:30, and prayers of healing will begin at 6 o’clock.

The service will include music, opening remarks by the Rev. Beth Turner and a prayer by the Rev. Patrick Greene of New Prospect Baptist Church of Cleveland. There will also be a prayerful movement by the Servants of Grace of First United Methodist Church, a prayer of Judaism by University of Central Arkansas philosophy teacher Phillip Spivey, a Hindu reading, an Islamic reading/prayer by AFS international student Anosh Baig of Morrilton High School, an Arabic Baha’i chant by Tayyebe Ajmandi with translation by Jeannie Denniston, and group singing of “Let Us All Associate” by the congregation.
