Homeless and hunger awareness fundraiser

Empty Bowls helps to raise not only awareness of the homeless and hunger in the area but also raises funds for general operating expenses when monthly donations fall short.

Proceeds from Empty Bowls help the homeless and nearly homeless to change their life situations and break the cycle of poverty and/or poor choices that has led to this situation.

For the past four years, Bethlehem House has held the event in a single church, while inviting the community to come and support its mission. This year, five churches in Faulkner County will host an Empty Bowls event for their congregation and local community. Donations range from $5 to $10 depending on age and location.

Participating churches:

  • St. Joseph Catholic Church – 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4.
  • Calvary Missionary Baptist Church – 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8.
  • The Church Alive – 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8.
  • Second Baptist Church – 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18.
  • Mosaic Church – 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22.
