Harding's Donatella Luckett accepts Senior Bowl invitation

For the second time in the last three seasons, Harding Football will be represented in the Senior Bowl, the most prestigious postseason all-star game in college football.

Senior wide receiver Donatella Luckett accepted an invitational to the Senior Bowl. Luckett’s former teammate Ty Powell, now with the NFL’s Buffalo Bills, played in the game in 2013.

The 2015 Senior Bowl will be played at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala. The game will air live on the NFL Network and tickets are available by calling the Senior Bowl Ticket Office at 888.736.2695.

A native of Sand Hill, Miss., Luckett has been under the watchful eyes of NFL scouts throughout his senior season. Scouts from all 32 teams have visited Harding’s campus this season to evaluate the 6-foot, 210-pound Luckett.

In his senior season, Luckett had 23 receptions for 602 yards and five touchdowns. His 26.2 yards per catch led the Great American Conference, and Luckett earned 1st Team All-GAC honors as an offensive utility player.

Luckett scored 22 touchdowns in his Harding career with an average distance of 49.7 yards. The final two touchdowns in his career came against Pittsburg State in the NCAA Division II playoffs and came from 50 and 82 yards out.
