13 May 2013 First Service Bank celebrates 50th anniversary
First Service Bank is honoring its 50-year anniversary with a custom authored and illustrated children’s book titled "Franklin Cents" to be given to each first grade student in the markets the bank serves.
Books will be distributed in Greenbrier, Conway, Marshall, Mountain View, Dermott, Shirley, Yellville, Flippin and Clinton.
A total of 3,000 books will be distributed as a gesture of gratitude to the communities the bank has served for the last 50 years.
"We decided the best way to honor and give back to the communities we serve is to partner with education by giving books to students, in this case first-graders," said Tom Grumbles, president, CEO and chairman of First Service Bank. "We had many ideas of how we could show our communities a gesture of gratitude and ‘Franklin Cents’ was born, the story of a boy working hard, saving money, learning lessons and achieving his goals."
The books will be delivered in May to public and private elementary schools by First Service Bank employees.
"Our employees from each bank location have volunteered to read the story at the elementary schools, and to personally hand out the books to the children," said Donny Bradley, president of the Conway location. "This is a great way to honor our achievements as a bank, and a genuine gesture to the communities that have supported us for the last 50 years.”

A family-owned and operated bank, First Service employs 110 people at nine locations around the state with its headquarters in Faulkner County.
