In late 1989, a group of Conway citizens came together with a shared concern for the unsheltered in the community. They saw hopelessness, fear, shame, and emotional and physical pain. The citizens formed Bethlehem House, Conway’s first and only homeless service. The house opened in 1994 to fill the gap for individuals and families by providing temporary housing while they are motivated and empowered to become independent, productive and self-sufficient.
