01 Dec 2014 Faulkner County Library plans Christmas events for children

Local author Maria Hoskins will read her new book “Christmas Night on the Farm,” at the Faulkner County Library at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11.

Young readers will enjoy recollections told in verses reminiscent of Clement Moore’s classic “A Visit from Saint Nicholas” which begins with the beloved lines, “Twas the night before Christmas.”

The brilliantly illustrated book tells the story of a young girl’s memories of her family’s holiday season in the mid-1960s on an Arkansas farm and gives children of all ages an enchanting glimpse of one family’s holiday preparations. Illustrations are by Lauren Crymes. Books will be available for purchase.

At 6 p.m., Brian and Terri Kinder will present their Christmas children’s concert.

All library events are free and open to the public.
