Fairfield Bay plans ‘Luau at the Lake’

Fairfield Bay’s summer fun continues with the inaugural “Luau at the Lake” at the Fairfield Bay Marina on Saturday, Aug. 4.

Bring your grass skirts, leis and flowered shirts to celebrate with a day of games, traditional luau music and food for an authentic Hawaiian luau.

“Our summer has never been better,” said Fairfield Bay Marina Manager John Conry. “People love this beautiful lake and we celebrate that as much as we can. So the fun continues with an authentic Hawaiian luau – from the food and the music to the amazing show, you’ll think you’ve been transported to the big island!”

The fun kicks off at 4 p.m. with contests for best Hawaiian costume, a Hawaiian dance contest, best hula hoop and best limbo. There will even be a mechanical bull to ride, sponsored by Steve Landers Cowboy Dodge in Clinton.

Dinner will be served at 5:30. There will be a traditional Hawaiian pig roast as well as an abundance of other island dishes to enjoy.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the Fairfield Bay Marina. Hot dogs and chips will also be available for the kiddos for $5. Tickets are limited, so don’t wait to get yours – you definitely don’t want to miss this party.

No luau is complete without music. The event will feature the sounds of Hawaiian drums, singers and a fire show.
