Editor’s Note January ’17: It’s that time again

Happy New Year!

This month’s edition of 501 LIFE centers on the theme of “Time.” It seemed like an appropriate time for this theme, as we say goodbye to 2016 and greet a new year with its plethora of possibilities.

Now is the perfect occasion to reflect on the joys and disappointments of the previous year and how you spent that precious commodity that we never seem to have enough of these days – time.

Perhaps in the new year, less time should be spent in some areas to focus on what we value most because once it’s gone, there is no getting it back.

Spending quality time with those people important in your life – family, especially children (who grow up way too fast), and friends – is a real treasure. It’s those special relationships that add meaning to our lives. It’s where we find refuge and support when times are tough.

Unfortunately, it is too easy to get caught up in other distractions (like cell phones and social media) and lose focus on those precious moments.

As we reflect on 2016, we are thankful for the time we spent interacting with our talented team, our loyal readers and our incredibly supportive advertisers. It has been a real pleasure to “Celebrate Greater Central Arkansas” and we look forward to sharing with you the exciting plans we have for the year ahead.

Here’s to “Loving LIFE” and celebrating a new year in the 501!
