05 May 2025 Dogtown Throwdown returns to Argenta for final spring celebration
NORTH LITTLE ROCK — The Argenta Arts District is gearing up for the final spring installment of Dogtown Throwdown, a vibrant two-day street festival set for Friday, May 9, and Saturday, May 10. Main Street will be closed from Broadway to 5th St. starting at 4 p.m. Friday to 10 p.m. Saturday. With “Backyard Bites” as this month’s theme, attendees can enjoy barbecue inspired specials, refreshing summer drinks, live music and outdoor vendor markets. After this weekend, Dogtown Throwdown will take a summer hiatus, returning in September.
Event Highlights:
● Live Music: Kick off the weekend with an electrifying Friday night performance by Whoa Dakota. Then, on Saturday, don’t miss Red & The Revelers bringing high-energy Southern soul to the main stage next to the library.
● Family Activities: Bring the whole family out for hands-on summer crafts, outdoor games, and interactive fun, hosted by the Argenta Library and First Security Bank. Plus, don’t miss the North Little Rock Animal Shelter’s mobile adoption unit—come meet some adorable, adoptable pets looking for their forever homes!
● Local Shopping: Two vendor markets on Saturday showcasing local artisans and makers-one at Flyway Brewing from 2 to 6 p.m., and another at Argenta Plaza from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. It’s a great chance to shop for Mother’s Day gifts while enjoying the festival atmosphere. Be sure to stop by the Argenta Arts District table, set up on Main St, where you can grab exclusive “I Love Argenta” and “Dogtown Throwdown” t-shirts. Show your support for the neighborhood—and look good doing it!
