21 May 2011 Dog parks offer opportunity to enjoy the outdoors
A variety of dog parks are located throughout the 501, giving pets and their companions an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.
Some helpful information when planning an outing:
- Make sure to bring something (like a pooper scooper or bags) to pick up the mess your dog(s) make. Be respectful of others and always clean up after your dog.
- Bring water and a leash for your dog. Some parks provide water, but be prepared just in case.
- Don’t bring your dog if it is aggressive.
- Always keep an eye on your pet and don’t let the animal wander too far.
- If the park is near a residential area, be mindful of the neighbors and minimize the barking.
