Deliver Hope to host event

Deliver Hope will host a Rock-A-Thon at Rogers Plaza Fountain in Downtown Conway from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 7, as part of ArkansasGives Day sponsored by the Arkansas Community Foundation.

Members of Deliver Hope and the community will gather around the fountain and rock in rocking chairs to encourage donations. Throughout the day, there will be entertainment, music and other activities, such as face painting. Additionally, computers will be set up in the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce to make donating more accessible.

Donations to Deliver Hope will go toward a new ministry for homeless youth launching this summer.

From 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. anyone can donate online through the ArkansasGives website by selecting the registered charity of their choice. The Arkansas Community Foundation has set up a $400,000 bonus pool to be divided among the charities participating statewide. In addition, nonprofits will compete for additional cash prizes from First Security Bank that will be awarded to the organizations that raise the most individual donations and most total dollars.

ArkansasGives is presented by Arkansas Community Foundation in partnership with the Arkansas Nonprofit Alliance and AT&T Arkansas. Media partners include KTHV 11 in Little Rock, KAIT in Jonesboro, KFSM TV 5 in Fort-Smith-Fayetteville, iHeart Media, the Arkansas Press Association, the Arkansas Broadcast Association and Soiree Magazine.

Arkansas Community Foundation offers tools to help Arkansans protect, grow and direct their charitable dollars as they learn more about community needs. Since 1976, the Community Foundation has provided more than $132 million in grants and partnered with thousands of Arkansans to help them improve neighborhoods, towns and the entire state. Contributions to the Community Foundation, its funds and any of its 27 affiliates are fully tax deductible.

Deliver Hope is a registered Arkansas nonprofit and a member of the Arkansas Nonprofit Alliance. Its mission is to deliver the hope of Jesus Christ to at-risk and under-served young people through mentoring, tutoring, a ministry to pregnant and parenting teen moms called Her Hope, and a juvenile justice ministry.
