Conway Regional welcomes spine surgeon to medical staff

Conway Regional Health System recently welcomed Regan S. Gallaher, MD, to its medical staff.

Gallaher, a board certified neurosurgeon who performs neck and back spinal procedures exclusively, will join the Conway Regional Neuroscience Center and practice alongside neurologists Tim Freyaldenhoven and Keith Schluterman and Elana Russell, APRN. He will begin practice on Monday, Oct. 30.

“We are excited to welcome another exceptional physician to the Conway Regional Medical Staff. Working to ensure that the community has needed neurological services, Dr. Gallaher’s expertise will complement the excellent neurology services provided by Drs. Schluterman and Freyaldenhoven, and serve as a tremendous asset to our team,” said Conway Regional President and CEO Matt Troup.

Gallaher comes to Conway from Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, where he practiced for the last four years, and Washington Regional Medical Center before that. He has been in practice for almost 20 years, specializing in surgical and non-surgical treatment of spinal illness and trauma.

“Dr. Gallaher is joining a team of talented health professionals who will work together to provide neurological services,” said Rebekah Fincher, corporate director of physician relations and business development. “We know that back and spine specialists are in high demand and we are excited to bring such an experienced spine surgeon to our community, while adding more depth of services to our neuroscience center.”
Gallaher holds a medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and completed a residency in neurosurgery from the University of New Mexico at Albuquerque. He also has a bachelor’s degree from Hendrix College.

“I am happy to be back in Conway, I enjoyed my time here during undergrad and I am excited to reintegrate into the community. Conway Regional has been very welcoming to me and I look forward to begin practicing in the neuroscience center and collaborating with the medical staff,” said Gallaher.

Neurosurgical appointments can be made through primary care providers or other specialists. The Conway Regional Neuroscience Center is located in Suite 305 of the Conway Regional Surgery Center (Building 3) in suite 305 and can be reached at 501.932.0352.
