Conway Regional undergoing patient room renovations

Conway Regional Health System gave employees a sneak peek at the renovation taking place in the hospital’s patient tower.

According to Bryan Gibbs, vice president of support services at Conway Regional, the project includes renovation of 91 patient rooms. The 40-week project started in May and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

“The new design is all about providing our patients, families and staff with a more modern and supportive environment for patient care. Many of these changes are based upon recommendations from our direct patient care staff,” said Lori Scroggin, chief development officer for Conway Regional Health System. “Aesthetic improvements, such as a wooden look to the floors and softer colors, are being made for a more modern feel. The new design will also feature improved control over room temperature and is being reconfigured to improve bedside access for nurses and physicians.”

The renovation includes new signage outside each patient room to indicate special instructions for health care workers.

Entry ways have also been reconfigured for greater efficiency. The rooms also feature new flooring, a brighter paint color and a new air conditioning system. Bathrooms in the patient rooms have also been updated with tile and new built-in features, like shower chairs.

Nabholz Construction is doing the renovation work on the $6.4 million project, which started in May and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
