The Conway Regional Health and Fitness Center will celebrate a $1.2 million renovation project with a grand reopening on Friday, May 10.

Grand reopening festivities are planned to celebrate a $1.2 million renovation project at the Conway Regional Health and Fitness Center.

The event is planned noon to 2 p.m. Friday, May 10, at the fitness center, located at 700 Salem Road. It will include a light lunch and facility tours. The public is invited to attend.

Prizes will also be awarded as part of the grand reopening, including a Garmin Forerunner 235 and a Haro Double Peak Sport mountain bike.

During the week, which is also “Medical Fitness Week,” there will be no enrollment fee to join the center. Those who join on May 10 will have a chance to win a fitness package which includes 16 personal training sessions.

The 70,000-square-foot facility was opened nearly 25 years ago.

Jeramie Hinojosa, director of the fitness center, said the two most noticeable changes from the renovation are the re-design of the front desk/main lobby and the men’s and women’s locker rooms and shower areas which now have a spa-like appearance.

Other features of the renovation include:

Upgrades to the building exterior

Installation of new fitness equipment valued at more than $130,000

An improved Wi-Fi system

Conway Regional worked with Nabholz and Cromwell Architects Engineers on the project.
