Conway orchestra opens season at free concert planned Sept. 21

The beautiful music of the full Conway Symphony Orchestra will fill Downtown Conway at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at Simon Park, during the annual free Concert in the Park. The orchestra will entertain the crowd of families and couples, students and retirees, with fan favorites and a glimpse of the remainder of the season.

Music-lovers are invited to bring chairs or picnic blankets and enjoy a bite from Count Porkula and Las Delicias food trucks, or visit one of the many downtown restaurants before or after the one-hour performance. Come early and shop the ever-changing Guild Gifts booth, or donate $1 for a chance to conduct the orchestra that evening, complete with a 30-second conducting lesson from Maestro Getzov.

Due to space considerations at the park, please leave furry friends at home. Rain will send the concert to Snow Fine Arts at the University of Central Arkansas, with notifications on the Conway Symphony Facebook page, and voicemail by calling 501.269.1066. Those needing special considerations for disabilities are also invited to call the CSO if arrangements can be made prior to the performance to meet needs.

The remainder of the 34th season will be: Violin Hero, Nov. 3; A Classic Christmas, Dec. 8; From a New World, Feb. 16; and The Music of John Williams, April 20. All performances are at 7:30 p.m. at Reynolds Performance Hall at UCA. Season ticket renewals are available now, with new subscriptions available Oct. 1, and single tickets on sale Oct. 15, through the Box Office at 501.450.3265 or ConwaySymphony.org.
