Conway Men's Chorus to present Spring Sing concert

The Conway Men’s Chorus will present its 16th annual Spring Sing concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at Reynolds Performance Hall at the University of Central Arkansas with free admission and parking. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Under the direction of Sam Huskey, the 55-plus voice group will be presenting its sixteenth spring concert since organizing in 1998. Assistant directors for this concert are Jordan Bennett and Dr. Greg Murry with piano accompanist by Paul Bradley.

Participation requirements are simply a love of singing and a desire to give the gift of music back to the community. The chorus – composed of men of all ages and all musical abilities and knowledge – presents an annual Christmas holiday concert and a Spring Pops concert as their music season.

Selections by the chorus this spring will include “Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’” (from “Oklahoma!”), the ever popular “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” the hauntingly beautiful “Navy Hymn,” the intriguing “Theme from the Pink Panther,” the traditional “Irish Blessing,” inspiring “He Never Failed Me Yet,” “Swingin’ With the Saints,” “Rise Up, O Men of God,” and “Sing A Song of Peace,” plus more.

Opening for the group on that evening will be Conway’s own rock-n-roll band, Yesteryear.
