Conway Christian School a finalist in national contest

Conway Christian School is competing in a national contest that could provide resources to build the school’s musical theater program.

In the fall, 10 schools will be added to NBC’s ‘SMASH’ MAKE A MUSICAL Program.

“This week we were notified that we are a finalist in the Smash-Make-A-Musical contest,” said Laura Shelton. “We were one of 30 finalists out of over a 1000 entries. The grand prize is worth $10,000.”

Ten grand prizes will be awarded to the schools receiving the most votes by Friday, May 4.

The 10 winners will be announced on Monday, May 7, and will receive:

    •    A free Broadway Junior ShowKit that includes the rights to perform a musical.
    •    Two master classes with iTheatrics’ New York based master teachers.
    •    A local project advisor.
    •    Two teacher stipends.
    •    A technical theater fund.
