Conway Christian garners back-to-back 'All Sports' titles

Conway Christian High School won the “All Sports” state championship for a second year in a row, according to an announcement made by the Arkansas Activities Association.

"What a great accomplishment for our athletic program at Conway Christian with back to back state championships in ‘All Sports’,” said athletic director and head football coach Michael Carter.  "CCS is a special place to coach with great student athletes, teachers, parents and coaches.  It is an honor to be the athletic director for this school."

Carter is in his third year as athletic director for Conway Christian. This is only the fifth year for CCS to be in the AAA.

"I think it says a lot about the quality of the program we’re trying to build at CCS.”

Several of the CCS sports teams qualified for points in the determination of the championship including football, volleyball, baseball, boys basketball, boys outdoor track, girls outdoor track, boys golf, girls golf, boys tennis and girls soccer. The boys tennis team won a state championship.

The fall football season kicks off against Episcopal Collegiate at home at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6. For additional information about the CCS athletic program and team
