Conference planned in Searcy on battling drug abuse epidemic

A community healthcare conference on the topic “Combating the Prescription Drug Abuse Epidemic” will be hosted Thursday, April 12, at Unity Health, in conjunction with Harding University Center for Health Services and the Searcy Regional Economic Development Corporation.

The event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Unity Health –Specialty Care campus Dogwood Educational Classroom, located at 1200 S. Main St. in Searcy. Attendees will learn from Mayo Clinic physician, Dr. Scott Palmer on the clinical perspective of “Battling the Opioid Crisis,” and the “Personal Impacts and the Local Battle” from Jimmy McGill of The Exodus Project.
