Community class schedule for UACCM

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton has released its upcoming non-credit workforce and community education classes. Individuals interested in getting an insight into a new career or wanting to learn a new skill, can attend a summer workforce training class.  These low-stress courses range across several disciplines and can be taken for fun or as a way to find some career direction.

Following are the classes and their dates:

Career Exploration Explosion is offered from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, June 13, through Thursday, June 16, and Monday, July 18, through Thursday, July 21. This program is open to high school students who have completed eighth through 12th grade and is free to participants.

Creative Writing is offered Monday, June 6, through Thursday, June 9, for students who have completed seventh or eighth grade and Tuesday, July 5, through Thursday, July 7, for students who have completed ninth and 10th grade. It will meet from 9 a.m. to noon, and the registration fee is $70.

Basic Automotive Electrical is offered from 8 a.m. to noon Monday, June 6, through Thursday, June 9. Open to anyone 16 and older, the registration fee is $40.

Robots is open to students completing sixth through eighth grades from Monday, June 20, through Thursday, June 23. Students completing ninth through 12th grades can enroll for the Monday, June 27, through Thursday, June 30, class. Both sessions will meet from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There is a $140 registration fee.

The Nursing Assistant Training course is offered in three separate sessions: Tuesday, July 5, through Thursday, Aug 11; Friday, Sept. 2, through Wednesday, Oct. 5; and Friday, Oct. 14 through Wednesday, Nov. 16. The registration fee is $175 and scholarships are available.

Basic HVAC Troubleshooting is offered 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, through Thursday, July 7. The registration fee is $100 and the class can only hold up to 12 students so make sure to get your registration form in early.
