Cleburne County groups team up to help young mother and child

Cleburne County Judge Jerry Holmes is teaming up with local nonprofit organization Teen Recruiters and the youth members of their Speak Life Program in order to help raise funds for a local mother and her 1-year-old child while giving a child in the community a chance of a lifetime.

At the Cleburne County Courthouse on Sunday, Dec.13, parents can bring their children, make a donation, enjoy some hot chocolate, have their photo taken and purchase a raffle ticket to win an amazing home visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus on Christmas Eve night. The event will take place 1 to 4 p.m. In the event of rain, the fundraiser will be held inside the courthouse.

All proceeds will go to Kimbra Wallace, who suffered a massive stroke at the young age of 21.

Kimbra has undergone three surgeries – one to remove a blood clot, a second to remove a portion of her skull to reduce swelling and the third to reattach her skull.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be making a special home visit to the winner of a raffle.

Local Youth Minister Brad Bates and The Attic at Heber Springs Church of Christ will provide hot chocolate to the community during this effort to show support for this family in such a difficult time.

Santa will announce the winner of the home visit at 4 p.m.
