LITTLE ROCK — City Year hosted a weekend of service in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, including community beautification projects and an Equity Summit. City’s Year Day of Service was held Jan. 18 at McDermott Elementary in Little Rock.

City Year’s Equity Summit was held Jan. 20 at Henderson Middle School in Little Rock.
At City Year’s Day of Service, community members helped paint a mural and complete beautification projects to create a more welcoming campus for students and educators. The nonprofit’s Equity Summit included presentations and panels from thought leaders, educators, and changemakers, as well as a spotlight on emerging practices in education.
