Christmas festivities, parade set in Downtown Morrilton

Main Street Morrilton will present First Thursday in Downtown Morrilton from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7. The Conway County Christmas Parade will make its way down Broadway at 5:30 p.m. Many downtown establishments will be open late and hosting special promotions and events. Participating businesses will be marked with balloons on the store fronts on Thursday afternoon.

Following the parade, Santa will return to the Pocket Park downtown where he will be available to hear Christmas wishes from kids and take photographs. Also, in the pocket park, Main Street Morrilton will light the Christmas tree and members of First Assembly of God Church in Morrilton will sing carols and provide free hot chocolate, sponsored by the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton. Visits and photos with Santa are also free.

Don’t forget, if you are shopping on First Thursday, take a picture with your purchase from downtown merchants and post it to the Main Street Morrilton Facebook page with the hashtag #keepthecheerhere for a chance to win prizes from Main Street’s “Keep the Cheer Here” holiday promotion.
