CBC’s Volleyball season ends in AMC Quarterfinals

Columbia, Mo. – Playing in the American Midwest Conference quarterfinals for the first time since 2021, Central Baptist College volleyball took on the Stars of Stephens College tonight at Silverthorne Arena. CBC (14-13) was stymied all night by a potent SC (20-10) offense, falling in straight sets to see their season come to an end.

Madeline Freeman led the way in kills for the Mustangs with six while also chipping in with a team-high five assists. Mikayla Lawrence, who was named AMC Defensive Player of the Year earlier in the day, led in digs with 23 and set a new single-season mark for digs with 554, breaking the previous record of 550 set by Alizea Garza in 2010. Despite the loss, the 14-13 record clinched CBC’s first winning season since the Mustangs went 10-8 in 2007.

Congratulations on a fantastic season for the CBC volleyball team!
