Austin Teal made history during the game, becoming the second player in program history to record a cycle. Teal had a home run in the first, a double in the second, a single in the fourth and a triple in the fifth. He joins Brady Brashier as the only players in program history to record a cycle, with Brashier’s coming on April 20, 2013, in a Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference game against Waldorf.

Teal’s home run came to lead off the game and made the score 1-0 in the top of the first. CBC would score three more in the inning thanks to a single by Jacori Hicks and a two-run home run from Rolando Rodriguez. CRC would score their first run in the bottom of the inning to make it 4-1. A double by Luke McBride made it 5-1 in the second followed by CBC scoring three in the third on a fielder’s choice and a two-run home run by Ryan Dauphinee. Crowley’s Ridge made it 8-2 in the bottom of the third before CBC tacked on four in the top of the fourth on a two-run single by Cade McBride, a single by Ruben Hernandez and a single by Dauphinee to make it 12-2. CRC would tally their final run in the bottom of the fourth, making it 12-3 before the Mustangs put the run rule into effect, scoring twice in the fifth on a single by Luke McBride and a ground out by Chett McDaniel, making the score 14-3 after five. The final run crossed the plate in the seventh on a sac fly by Brennan Duhe. Jaxon Kirkhuff started and earned the win, throwing three-and-one-third innings, allowing three runs on four hits with four strikeouts. Four pitchers: Mason Sellers, Landon Hitchcock, Blane Sullinger and Jackson Lindsey, combined for the final three-and-two-thirds, allowing just one hit and striking out three between them.
