CBC overcomes five-shot deficit to win a tournament

ALTON, Ill. – Trailing by only five shots heading into the final round of the Missouri Baptist Invitational, Central Baptist College men’s golf looked to capture their second spring tournament victory on Tuesday at the Spencer T. Olin Golf Club. CBC closed with a final round 299 to finish at 602, four shots clear of the runners up, Bethel, with their second win of the Spring after capturing the title at Lyon earlier this season.

Individually, Jakub Slapal posted a final round 74 to finish in second place, four shots behind the winner. Leopold Maes closed with a final round 70, tied for the low round of the day, to finish in a tie for fourth. Emmanuel LaBeur closed with a second straight 76 to finish in a tie for seventh at 152 while Kitsakon Jairak closed with a 79 to finish at 154 and Suraprat Pareepart closed with a 93 to finish at 175.

The Mustangs will play the American Midwest Conference Championship on April 29 and 30 at the Jefferson City Golf Course in Jefferson City, Mo.
