CBC kicks off capital campaign with record $5M gift

An anonymous couple has made a $5 million commitment to Central Baptist College in Conway.

CBC President Terry Kimbrow made the announcement at a recent groundbreaking for a new 36,000-square-foot academic building and also made public the launching of a $12 million capital campaign.

The new academic building is the first major project in a 10-year campus master plan tagged as “Vision 2020: A Miracle in the Making.”

According to Kimbrow, Vision 2020 is a plan to complete 10 major construction projects over the next 10 years to accommodate a projected enrollment of 2,020 students.

CBC began the quiet phase of a capital campaign in September with the CBC board of trustees’ approval of an initial goal of $5 million. Just more than $1 million has been raised, with Conway Corporation board members voting in January to contribute $750,000.

The $5 million gift is the largest single contribution in the history of the institution.
