10 May 2026 Careers on Wheels Expo brings big possibilities to young students
The Searcy School District gave its youngest learners a glimpse of the future during its recent Careers on Wheels Expo, held on March 20 at Lion Stadium parking lot behind McRae Elementary.

Designed for pre-K to third-grade students, the hands-on event brought careers to life as community partners rolled in with vehicles, tools and equipment used in their daily work. From bucket trucks and concrete mixers to agricultural equipment, students explored a wide range of professions in an interactive, up-close environment.

Students rotated through stations, meeting professionals and learning how different careers operate beyond the classroom. More than 15 organizations, including the Searcy police and fire departments, Northstar EMS, Entergy, Razorback Concrete, Arkansas Equine Services, C&M Planting and Kona Ice were among those giving students a firsthand look at their work.

“At Searcy School District, we have a goal to ensure all students are ready for employment, enlistment or enrollment,” said Megan Churchwell, event organizer. “This year, we have expanded our efforts to host more events that provide students at all grade levels with exposure to the opportunities available to them.”
By introducing career exploration at an early age, Careers on Wheels helps students understand their interests and imagine where their path might lead.
