Cabot’s Wright records a first in school history

Caytee Wright is the first Cabot High School swimmer to bring home a first place individual win at state, and she not only did it once, but twice.

Wright took home first place state titles in the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle.

The High School Swim & Dive State Championships took place Feb. 27 in Bentonville. The Cabot girls finished fourth place overall and the boys finished fifth.

The Cabot winners were:

Girls:

Jessie Baldwin, Melanie Abbott, Abigail Breedlove and Caytee Wright – third place Medley Race

Cabot girls third in 200 Free Relay

Caytee Wright first in the 50 free and first in the 100 free

Senior Jessie Baldwin third in girls 100 back

Boys:

Tristen Bowen, Chris Daniel, Payton Jones and Trent Shulta – fourth place Medley Race

Freshman Tristen Bowen fourth place in the 100 back and sixth overall in boys 200 IM

Senior Peyton Jones second in the boys 100 fly and third in the boys 500 freestyle

Senior Chris Daniel sixth overall in the boys 100 breaststroke
