Bisons Golf finishes tied for ninth in final tournament

SEARCY — The Harding men’s golf team finished the fall portion of their schedule at the Tulsa Cup tied for ninth place with a 15-over 879. Host Rogers State took home the team title with a 17-under 847.


Wilmer Haakansson posted an even 72 in both final two rounds to finish with a 1-over 217 and tied for 23rd. Haakansson made six birdies and one eagle over the final 36 holes.

Sam Tandy shot a 2-over 218 and finished tied for 28th. Tandy made three birdies in his 1-under 71 Round 2 before finishing with a 3-over 75.

Caleb Nichols made eight birdies over his final 36 holes and finished tied for 35th with a 3-over 79. Nichols shot a 1-under 71 in Round 2 and 5-over 77 in Round 3. Finlay

Cummings made two birdies in each of his final two rounds and finished tied for 66th with a 12-over 228. Trevor Mellott shot an even 72 in Round 2 before shooting a 10-over 82 in Round 3 to finish tied for 78th with a 15-over 231.

The Bisons will take time off from the course to focus on the Spring portion of their schedule.
