BISMARCK: Lions rebuilding under Keithley

Conference: 5-3A
Coach: David Keithley
’16 Record: 0-10

The Bismarck Lions struggled with low numbers in 2016, finishing winless on the year.

David Keithley takes over the program and looks to get Bismarck back on the winning side this fall.

Junior Dylan Clayton and sophomore James Kegley battle for the quarterback position. Senior Dylan Daniels and junior Sam Diaz look to pace the Lions’ ground game. Senior Dillion Hunt gives Bismarck a big target at tight end. Senior Austin Hughes and juniors Jordan Webb, Carson Mitchell and Christopher Tart lead the receivers. Offensive linemen include seniors Phillip Heck, Karson Wheeler and Noah Emerson; juniors Jaden Hogan and Colton Jones; and sophomore Chase Smith.

Hunt, Heck, Wheeler, senior Lance Spurlock and sophomore Luke Falco rotate on the defensive line. Daniels racked up 45 tackles last fall at linebacker. He’ll start alongside Diaz and Hughes. Kegley, Clayton, Webb and senior Skyler Checots start in the secondary.
