19 Nov 2017 Bethlehem House seeks help for ‘Empty Bowls’ fundraiser

Bethlehem House is seeking the support from churches and other faith-based organizations throughout Faulkner County to help raise awareness of its mission to minister to the homeless by hosting an “Empty Bowls” benefit for the homeless. 

Churches and other organizations have soup or chili suppers to benefit the Bethlehem House. 

“By joining forces with area churches and other faith-based organizations, we can serve more needy families and children especially during the holiday season,” said Judi Lively, executive director. “These events are fun to attend and will allow us to get to know the local churches on a deeper level.”

Proceeds from “Empty Bowls” will go toward the food pantry, daily soup kitchen and other aides for residents living in the transitional shelter. 

Aimee Prince, director of development for Bethlehem House, said, “By having multiple events throughout the community, we hope to raise awareness of our mission and be able to continue to provide programs that offer a hand up to our neighbors.”
