Bethlehem House recognizes volunteers

Bethlehem House in Conway recently hosted a volunteer recognition reception to honor the many volunteers that contributed more than 3,640 hours of service.

“Volunteers are the life blood of our organization,” said board treasurer Karen Dayer. “Without volunteers, there would be no Bethlehem House.”

Executive director Judi Lively made the presentation of Volunteer of the Year to the husband and wife team of Mike and Crystal Kemp. Lively talked about their service as part of the Adopt-a-Meal program in which groups or individuals come to the shelter to prepare a hot meal. They also spend time with the residents and helped start up the HELP Portrait event in Conway to photograph and offer professional portraits at no charge to the homeless.
