BENTON: Panthers building for more wins

And for the second straight year, the Panthers have a new head coach as Scott Neathery replaces Steve Quinn.

Senior Davis Butterworth (6-1, 245) leads six other returning starters on offense. Butterworth bolsters the offensive line. Senior Corey Dabney (5-8, 165) returns from injury. As a sophomore, Dabney saw time at running back.

The Panthers are making the switch from an option offense to the Spread.

Senior Lucas Hailey (5-11, 175) recorded more than 100 tackles for the Panthers in 2009 during an all-state campaign.

The Panthers will battle for a playoff spot against 6A-South foes El Dorado, Texarkana, Lake Hamilton and Pine Bluff.
