11 Aug 2013 BENTON HARMONY GROVE: Cardinals look to continue progress
Coach: Jimmy Parker
’12 Record: 4-6 (3-4)
Entering its third season as a program, Benton Harmony Grove continues to show improvement, winning four games last fall and narrowly missing out on the Class 3A playoffs through a tiebreaker.
With the school’s inaugural team entering its senior year, the experienced Cardinals may have what it takes to finally reach the playoffs in 2013.
Junior Fisher Arnesen begins the season at quarterback after winning the Cardinals’ final two games in 2012. Senior Zane Anderson shifts from quarterback to receiver and has great chemistry with Arnesen. Senior playmaker Triston Wilkerson moves to tight end.
Senior running back Nick Johnson returns after an all-conference season last year. Junior Harry McClendon backs up Johnson with great hands.
Eight starters return on a defense that allowed 22.6 points per game in 2012. Wilkerson has experience at linebacker and on the defensive line. Arnesen and McClendon double as linebackers.
